Removal

1. Remove the negative battery cable.
2. Raise the vehicle.





3. Disconnect the oxygen sensor. Refer to Powertrain Management.
4. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
5. Disconnect the braces from the engine and the transmission.
6. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Disconnect the ground straps from the engine block.
9. Remove the air conditioning compressor and bracket.
10. Remove the radiator.
11. Disconnect the power steering lines at the power steering pump.
12. Disconnect the heater hose from the intake manifold.
13. Disconnect the wiring harness from the engine.





14. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.





15. Disconnect the throttle cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) and bracket. Set the cables and bracket aside.
16. Disconnect the fuel pipes.
17. Install an approved engine lifting device to the engine lift brackets.





18. Remove the left side engine mount through-bolt.





19. Remove the right side engine mount through-bolt.
20. Remove the engine from the vehicle.
