Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair

NOTE: Do not allow metal coils of the blower resistor to become grounded to any metal surface as this may result in internal circuitry damage.

Blower Motor Resistor:




Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative Battery Cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notes.
2. Blower resistor harness.
3. Stud from dash panel.
4. Blower motor resistor

Blower Motor Resistor:




Install or Connect
1. Blower motor resistor.
2. Stud to dash panel.
3. Resistor harness.
4. Negative Battery Cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notes.



Blower Motor Resistor Without A/C:




Remove or Disconnect
1. Battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
2. Electrical connector.
3. Blower motor resistor screws.
4. Blower motor resistor.

Blower Motor Resistor Without A/C:




Install or Connect
1. Blower motor resistor.
2. Blower motor resistor screws.

Tighten
- Screws to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).

3. Electrical connector.
4. Battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
5. Perform Heater Function Test. Refer to Heater Function Test.
