Removal and Installation

Compressor Replacement:




Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notes.
2. Recover refrigerant from the system.
3. Drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
4. Electrical connectors, as necessary.
5. Compressor and condenser hose assembly. Refer to Compressor and Condenser Hose Assembly.
6. Compressor bolts.
7. Compressor rear bracket bolts.
8. Compressor from brackets.

Compressor Replacement:




Install or Connect
1. Compressor into brackets.
2. Compressor rear bracket bolts.
3. Compressor bolts.

Tighten
- Compressor bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Compressor rear bracket bolts to 31 N.m (23 lb ft).
4. Compressor and condenser hose assembly. Refer to Compressor and Condenser Hose Assembly.
5. Electrical connectors, as necessary.
6. Drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
7. Negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notes.
8. Refrigerant to the system.
- Check the system for leaks.
