Power Steering Pressure Switch: Service and Repair

Power Steering Pressure Switch (PSP)
REMOVAL

Power Steering Pressure Switch (PSP):




1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Disconnect the PSP switch pigtail from the wiring harness.

NOTE: The pigtail is permanently attached to the switch. Do not attempt to remove the wire from the switch.

NOTE: Have container ready to catch the power steering fluid that leaks out of the line when the switch is removed.




3. Unscrew the PSP switch form the power steering pump.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the PSP switch into the power steering pump.

2. Connect electrical connector.
3. Ensure power steering fluid level and no leakage. Add power steering fluid if necessary. Refer to Power Steering.




4. Connect the negative battery cable.
