Removal and Installation




Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect CAUTION in Cautions and notes.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
4. Remove the electrical connectors as necessary.
5. Remove the compressor and condenser hose assembly. Refer to Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement.
6. Remove the compressor bolts.
7. Remove the compressor rear bracket bolts.
8. Remove the compressor from the brackets.




Installation Procedure
1. Install the compressor into the brackets.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener NOTE in Cautions and notes.

2. Install the compressor rear bracket bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor rear bracket bolts to 31 N.m (37 lb ft).

3. Install the compressor bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

4. Install the compressor and condenser hose assembly. Refer to Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement.
5. Install the electrical connectors, if necessary.
6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
7. Connect the battery negative cable.
8. Add refrigerant to the system.
9. Inspect the system for leaks.
