Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair

Accelerator Pedal Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.




2. Disconnect the electrical harness from the accelerator position sensor.




3. Remove the two screws from the accelerator pedal assembly.
4. Remove the accelerator pedal assembly from the bulkhead.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the accelerator pedal assembly on the bulkhead.




2. Install the two screws to the accelerator pedal assembly.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 22 N.m (16 lb. ft.).




3. Connect the electrical harness to the accelerator position sensor.
4. Install the negative battery cable.






Accelerator Pedal and Associated Parts

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect accelerator position (AP) sensor (1) connector from accelerator pedal assembly.
3. Remove accelerator pedal assembly (2).

INSTALLATION
1. Install accelerator pedal assembly (2).
2. Connect AP sensor (1) harness connector.
3. Connect battery ground cable.
