Oil Pan Installation

Oil Pan installation





1. Apply a 3 mm (0.12 inch) bead of sealer to the block.

Important: The oil pan must be installed within 10 minutes from when the sealer was applied.





2. Install the oil pan.
3. Install the oil pan bolts.

Important: When installing the oil pan, it could be shifted front or back a riffle which could cause a transmission alignment problem. The back of the oil pan needs to be flush with the block.





4. Check the oil pan alignment. Use a straight edge on the back of the block and oil pan (transmission mounting surface).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Tighten the oil pan bolts.
^ Tighten the (side) oil pan bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the (end) oil pan bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Install the oil lever sensor.
7. Install the oil lever sensor bolt.
^ Tighten the oil level sensor bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
