Wedge Replacement - Endgate - Body Side

Removal Procedure




1. Open the end gate.
2. Remove the screw retaining the end gate body side wedge to the body.
3. Pull the body side wedge away from the body to release the retaining tab (1) on the wedge assembly.
4. Remove the body side wedge from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Align the tab (1) on the end gate body side wedge to the slot in the body.
2. Press the body side wedge assembly onto the body.
3. Install the screw retaining the body side wedge to the body.
Tighten the screw only until the wedge does not rock, but will still slide fore and aft.
4. Slide the wedge (2) fully rearward.
5. Close the end gate to set the wedge to the correct position.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Open the end gate and secure the body side wedge to the body.

Tighten the body side wedge screw to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
