Prop Rod Replacement - Endgate

Removal Procedure




1. Open the endgate.
2. Remove the endgate prop rod (3) from the retainer clip (2).
3. Remove the bolt retaining the proper rod (3) to the endgate.
4. Remove the prop rod retaining bolts (1) from the body.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the prop rod retaining bolts (1) to the body.

Tighten the prop rod bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

2. Install the retaining clip (2) to the endgate.
3. Install the bolt retaining the prop rod to the endgate.

Tighten the prop rod bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the prop rod (3) to the retaining clip (2) on the endgate.
