Service Engine Soon Light ON P0133 P0172

ISSUE DATE: FEBRUARY 2005

Affected Vehicles

2003-2004 Ascender (US/UT) equipped with 4.2L Engine (VIN S).

Service Information

Condition:
Some customers may comment on the Service Engine Soon light coming on and no apparent vehicle drivability condition. Upon investigation, the technician will find diagnostic trouble codes P0133 or P0172.

Correction:
Reprogram the PCM.

Service Procedure

Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with a new service calibration released with ITCS CD version 33 or newer. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in the Service Manual. As always, make sure your TECH2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
