Tire Monitoring System: Description and Operation

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS)
The TPMS consists of the three major components which are tire pressure sensors, TPMS Control Unit (TCU), and TPMS light. This system can be activated by a correctly programmed tire code.

The tire pressures sensor are used to detect abnormalities and tire pressure in the TPMS. The TCU whether there is an abnormality in the TPMS based on the tire pressure sensor signal.

The TPMS light is used to detect abnormalities and low tire pressure in the TPMS. When the TPMS light is lit, one or more of tires is significantly under inflated. If a fault's can produce a failure of the TPMS functions, the light blinks ON/OFF every 0.5 second.
