DTC U2104 CAN-BUS FaultCircuit Description
The powertrain is controlled when 2-way communication (ordinary condition) exists between the ECM and TCM. A High/Low 2-wire circuit between the ECM and the TCM uses a CAN communications protocol for 2-way communication. This code is stored whenever a problem is detected in the communications function.
Conditions for Setting The DTC
When BUS OFF fault is detected
- Ignition "ON".
- Ignition voltage is between 10.96 V and 16 V.
- Engine is running.
- Receive data is allowed to be used.
- No DTC's below set P0563, P0601, P0604
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
- The ECM will not illuminate the MIL.
- The ECM will store conditions which were present when the DTC was set as Freeze Frame and in the Failure Records data.
IMPORTANT: DTC is stored in memory as an historical data entry. If there is no freeze frame data, inspection is required. If no problems are discovered during inspection, clear the DTC data from memory.
