Transfer Case Fluid Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the transfer case shield, if equipped.





3. Remove the fill plug.





4. Remove the drain plug.

Installation Procedure
1. Apply pipe sealant to the drain plug threads.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the drain plug.
Tighten the plug to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Fill the transfer case with the proper fluid.
4. Apply pipe sealant to the fill plug threads.





5. Install the fill plug.
Tighten the plug to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the transfer case shield, if equipped.
7. Lower the vehicle.
