Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Drain cooling system.
2. Remove fan/clutch and fan cowl.
3. Loosen fan and power steering pump bolts, then remove drive belts.
4. Remove P/S support strap bolt from water pump.
5. Remove hose from air pump to delivery line.
6. Loosen air pump belt adjuster nuts and remove belt.
7. Remove bolts, washers, bracket and air pump from cylinder block. Collect ALL spacers.

9. Disconnect lower radiator hose from pump.
10. Remove distributor cap.
11. Loosen hose clamp on heater supply hose at rear of pump.
12. Remove bolts, then break seal and remove water pump from cylinder block.
13. Clean timing cover mating surface carefully.
14. Reverse procedure to install.
