Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

1. Loosen clamp on air pump delivery pipe.
2. Remove retaining hardware from air pump delivery pipe to heat shield.
3. Remove air delivery pipe from pump outlet.

CAUTION: Do not remove the air conditioner compressor outlet line. Pressure release of the refrigerant could cause serious injury.

4. Remove retaining bolts and remove outlet elbow.
5. Remove trunnion hardware.
6. Remove nut from pump mounting bolt. Swing pump to engine and remove drive belt.
7. Remove pump mounting belt and spacers. Lift pump from vehicle.
8. Reinstall in reverse order of removal. Adjust pump drive belt to allow 4.6mm deflection.
