Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Note: Be sure converter has cooled before handling.

1. Remove the oxygen sensor from the vehicle.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle and place on safety stands.
3. Remove the hardware securing the converter to the intermediate exhaust pipe, move the clamp to the rear, and disconnect the pipe from the converter.
4. Remove the hardware securing the converter to the exhaust manifold and remove the exhaust manifold from the vehicle.
5. Remove the sealing rings from the converter and clean all mating surfaces.
6. Reverse procedures to install, using new sealing rings.
