Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair


The fuel system must always be depressurized prior to disconnecting or removing any fuel system component.

Note: If engine is hot, fuel pressure will not be reduced easily.

1. Disconnect fuel pump connector.
2. Switch on ignition, and crank engine a few revolutions.
3. Switch off ignition, and reconnect fuel pump connector.


Alternative Method

1. Start engine.
2. Disconnect airflow meter connector.
3. Work throttle linkage to keep engine running as long as possible. This will reduce fuel pressure in fuel rail.
