Trip Computer - Change in ECU Pin

85jaguar01

DATE . . . FEBRUARY, 1985

NUMBER . . .J85/10
MODEL: XJ6 & XJ-S

SUBJECT: TRIP COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS;
KEY POINTS: CHANGE IN ECU PIN
TERMINATION IN LEAD FROM INTERFACE UNIT.
Technical Service Bulletin J83/53, issued in September, 1983, provided notes to assist in trip computer fault diagnosis.

The (b) Symptom-Cause paragraph refers to the yellow/green lead between the interface unit and pin 26 of the EFI ECU. This is correct for the XJ6, however, on the XJ-S the yellow/green lead connects to pin 29 of the EFI ECU.
