KEY POINTS: INTRODUCTION OF REPAIR KIT
ISSUE:

Repair process for wood veneer panels.

ACTION:

A service kit has been introduced consisting of the following:

^ A wood veneer repair kit - wood filler
- hardener
- 4 color tints

^ Polyurethane clear lacquer

^ Additional information is included in a video (JLM 2174/1) and a Wood Refinishing Brochure (JJM 991599).


NOTE: The following wood veneer faults can be repaired using the kit:

^ Fine/medium scratching or abrasions of the lacquer.

^ Deep/severe scratching, lacquer sinkage and chips in the lacquer which do not penetrate the wood veneer.

^ Edge damage or chipping of the wood veneer at one location per panel.

The kit cannot be used to repair the following:

^ Cracks in the lacquer which extend down to or penetrate the wood veneer.

^ Wood veneer which has been chipped or removed in more than one location on a panel.

^ Separation of the veneer from the base material due to adhesive bonding failure.

^ Severe sinkage.
