H&E XJ-S CONV.

KEY POINTS:
RECALL INFORMATION AND REPAIR PROCEDURE

The Hess & Eisenhardt Company has filed with the National Highway Traffic safety Administration (NHTSA) a Vehicle safety Defect Report for the defect/recall described in this bulletin. By agreement with the Hess & Eisenhardt Company, Jaguar Cars Inc. will administer this recall program on their behalf.

The Hess & Eisenhardt Company has determined that, on 1986 through 1988 Jaguar XJ-S vehicles converted into convertible models by Hess & Eisenhardt, a defect exists in the fuel vapor recovery system such that excessive fuel vapor pressure can occur, thereby creating fuel odors or after prolonged cycling, a weakening of fuel tank structure which could cause fuel tank leaks.
