Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Fig. 17 Air Pump Service:

1. Loosen adjusting arm adjusting nuts, pivot bolt, and adjusting block bolt. Loosen air pump pivot bolt, Fig. 17..
2. Remove the fan clutch assembly from the water pump and move out of the way.
3. Move the air pump towards engine and remove belt.
4. Reverse procedure to install the new belt, adjusting the tension so a force of 6.4 lbs (2.9 kg) deflects the belt .22 inches (5.6 mm).
