Deceleration Valve: Service and Repair

Idle Air Components:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove bolts securing speed control actuator bracket to intake manifold and move actuator aside for access to idle speed control valve.
3. Release clamp and disconnect air hose from valve.
4. Unplug valve electrical connector, remove mounting bolts and lift valve from engine.
5. Before installing new valve, ensure that mounting surface and hole in intake manifold are clean.
6. Plug in connector and position valve on manifold. Install and tighten bolts.
7. Install air hose and tighten clamp.
8. Place speed control actuator in position. Install and tighten bracket bolts.
9. Connect battery ground cable.
