ISSUE:

When one ride leveling strut is faulty it may be necessary to replace the pair.

ACTION:

When replacing ride leveling struts it is necessary to note the vehicle mileage, the mileage when the struts were installed and the part number on each rear strut (stamped on lower tube).

Then refer to the following guidelines:

Replace only the damaged strut when: the undamaged strut part number is CBC 8892 and vehicle mileage is less than 25,000 miles.

Replace the axle pair when: the undamaged strut part number is NOT CBC 8892 or the vehicle/strut mileage is 25,000 miles or more.
