Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

CAUTION: Observe all fire hazard precautions detailed in FUEL SYSTEMS / SERVICE PRECAUTIONS, when working on open fuel systems.
Fuel system MUST be depressurized before disconnecting any fueling component.

Fuel Filter:

1. Depressurize fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Lift car and place suitable container under filter.
4. Remove clip securing fuel line to body.
5. Remove nut securing filter clamp to mounting rubber and reposition clamp away from mount.
6. Disconnect fuel line union nuts from each end of filter and position lines away from filter.
7. Remove old seals from end of lines and fit protective plugs to lines.
8. Remove filter from mounting clamp.
9. Fit new filter and reverse steps to refit.
10. Use new fuel line seals.

NOTE: New 'O' ring seal must be fitted each time filter is removed.

11. Check for leaks.
