Wiper and Washer Systems: Testing and Inspection


1. Check all fuse and connections ensuring ground connections are clean and tight.
2. With ignition switched on, battery voltage should be obtained at terminals No. 1, 2, and 5 of wiper motor.
3. Battery voltage should also be obtained at terminals No. 31b1 and 31b2 on delay unit.
4. With wiper switch in ``Slow'' position and ignition switch ``On,'' battery voltage should be obtained at terminal No. 5 of the wiper motor.
5. Wiper motor ground circuit is via wiper switch terminals No. 7 and 2.
6. In ``Fast'' position, battery voltage should be obtained at terminal No. 3 of wiper motor. Ground circuit is same as ``Slow'' position.
7. In ``Intermittent'' position, battery voltage should be obtained at terminal No. 1 of wiper motor and terminal No. 54 on delay unit. Ground is switched intermittently via delay unit and Park/Run switch in wiper motor.
