Oil Pressure Gauge - Modification Procedure - Unsold Vehicles - Service Action S657

ISSUE:

Technical Bulletin 88-21, Amended 7/95 detailed a modification procedure for customer concerns of low or fluctuating oil pressure on 1995 MY Sedan Range vehicles within the above VIN range.

In order to eliminate the possibility of similar complaints by future customers, all unsold stock of the above vehicles should also be modified.

ACTION:

Replace the oil pressure transducer with an oil pressure switch on all unsold stock 1995 MY Sedan Range vehicles within the above VIN Range. Whenever possible, this procedure should be performed when the vehicle is undergoing PDI. Vehicles that have already been prepared for sale should be modified before delivery to the customer.

Warranty summary codes have been assigned to this service action in order to simplify claim submission. The dealership will be reimbursed the parts and labor time allowance as indicated.

DCS DEALERS

Submit claims using the appropriate summary code for the vehicle model and work performed. Follow standard campaign submission procedures.

NON-DCS DEALERS

Submit claims on the Recall Campaign Summary form W-25. Enter the appropriate summary code for the vehicle model and work performed in the Repair Code column. Do not use the W-1 warranty claim form.
