ISSUE:

Some 1995-96 MY Sedan Range vehicles within the above VIN range may experience an intermittent no crank condition. The condition can be caused by a starter link cable that is loose at the bulkhead terminal (ST3/5T5).

ACTION:





When investigating a customer complaint of an intermittent no crank condition, check the bulkhead terminal (ST3/ST5) for looseness (Illustration 1).

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

2. Pull up the rubber cap and torque the nut to 62 - 88.5 lbs. in. (7 - 10 Nm.) to ensure a tight connection.

3. Reconnect the battery and reset the clock.
