Camber, Rear Wheel
CAMBER
Check
1. Ensure car is on level surface and tire pressure is correct.
2. Install one end of setting link tool JD 25 in lower hole of rear mounting. Depress body until other end of setting link can be slid over outer wishbone fulcrum nut. Repeat on other side of car.
3. Set camber gauge against each rear tire and read off camber angle. The correct reading should be 1/2 to 1 degree
4. If these limits are not met, note deviation and adjust camber angle.
5. If results are satisfactory, remove setting links.
Adjust
1. Raise rear of vehicle and support body.
2. Remove wheel.
3. Remove lower wishbone outer fulcrum grease nipple.
4. Release clip securing inner universal joint cover. Slide cover clear of joint.
5. Remove four steel locknuts securing drive shaft flange to brake disc.
6. Separate drive shaft from disc to enable shims to be fitted. Addition of one shim, .5 mm (.020 inch) will alter camber position 1/4 degree.
7. Add or remove shims as required.
8. Replace drive shaft, cover, nipple and wheel.
9. Remove vehicle from stands and re-check camber angle.
