Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Renewal Procedure

WARNING: Allow the engine to cool before working on the cooling system.

Fig. 1 Coolant Temperature Sensor:

- Open the hood and fit a wing cover.
- Open the trunk and remove the battery cover.
- Disconnect the battery ground lead.
- Carefully release the coolant pressure at the header tank.
- Re-tighten the header tank cap.
- Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor multi-plug.
- Undo and remove the coolant temperature sensor from the thermostat housing.
- Refitting a new coolant temperature sensor is the reverse of the removal procedure.
