Windshield Washer Control Module: Description and Operation
The Body Processor Unit
(BPU) provides electronic control of power wash and wash/wipe requests made by the driver via the column stalk switch. The unit monitors input signals from the stalk switch, instrument pack (vehicle road speed), sidelights switch, ignition switch (via inertia switch) and fluid level sensor. Depending upon the information received from these sources the BPU determines the correct sequence of operations that the system should carry out and energizes the necessary relays accordingly. Connections to the BPU are as listed in the table below.
