Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair


Removal and Installation

Removal
1. Reclaim the refrigerant. Service and Repair
2. Remove the accessory drive belt.







3. Disconnect the compressor electrical connector.







4. NOTE:
Seal the tube and the compressor with plugs
Detach the compressor supply and return tubes.







5. Remove the compressor O-rings







6. Remove the compressor.
7. Remove the clutch and clutch field coil. Service and Repair

Installation
1. Install the clutch and clutch field coil. Service and Repair







2. NOTE:
Install new O-rings and coat them with refrigerant oil.


NOTE:
5 oz of oil are contained in the new compressor. The air conditioning system requires a total of 7 oz of oil.


To install, reverse the removal procedure.
