Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications

Cylinder Head LH - VIN Range: M45255->N52206

NOTE: Tighten the bolts 1 to 10 in the sequence shown.

Install the left-hand cylinder head.
Tighten bolts 1 to 10 to 20 Nm.
Tighten bolts 1 to 10 to 35 Nm.
Tighten bolts 1 to 10 to 90°.
Tighten bolts 1 to 10 to 90°.
Tighten bolts 11 to 12 to 25 Nm.

Camshaft Bearing Cap bolts

CAUTION: Alternate bolt tightening to correctly seat the camshaft bearing caps.

Install the camshaft bearing cap bolts evenly.
Tighten to 10 Nm.

Exhaust Manifold RH

Install the right-hand exhaust manifold heat shield/gasket retaining bolt.
Tighten to 50 Nm.

Cylinder Head LH - VIN Range: N52207->N99999

CAUTION: Alternate bolt tightening to correctly seat the camshaft bearing caps.

Install the camshaft bearing cap bolts evenly.
Tighten to 10 Nm.

Exhaust Manifold RH

Tighten the exhaust manifold retaining bolts to 25 Nm.

Intake Manifold

Install the intake manifold.
Tighten to 22 Nm.
