Rear Windshield Distortion - Inspection and Repair Procedure





AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

A customer may have a concern that the rear windshield appears distorted when viewed through the inside rearview mirror. This may be caused by a manufacturing error which caused the glass to be distorted beyond acceptable limits. This manufacturing error is limited to glass manufactured in February and April 2008.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, follow the Repair Procedure below to inspect the date code in the upper left-hand corner of the rear windshield and, if necessary, replace the rear windshield.

NOTE:
Global Technical Reference (GTR) lookup sequence is as follows: GTR Home > NAS > X250 - XF > Service Information > 2009 > Workshop Manual > 5: Body and Paint > 501: Body and Paint > 501-11 > Rear Window Glass

1. Inspect the date code in the upper left-hand of the rear windshield:

^ If the date code is either '.....8' (February 2008) or '.....08' (April 2008), refer to Workshop Manual (GTR) Section 501-11 to replace the rear windshield.
