Engine Control Module: Service and Repair






Engine Control Module (ECM)

Removal
1 Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery Disconnect and Connect Battery Disconnect and Connect
2 Remove the cowl vent screen. For additional information, refer to Cowl Vent Screen Service and Repair
3 Remove the secondary bulkhead LH panel. For additional information, refer to Secondary Bulkhead Panel LH Secondary Bulkhead Panel LH




4 Remove the engine compartment brace.




5 Release the pedestrian protection actuator bracket.




6 Remove the pedestrian protection actuator.




7 Reposition the pedestrian protection actuator bracket.




8 Remove the engine control module (ECM) cover.




9 Remove the ECM.

Installation
1 Install is the reverse of removal.




2 Tighten to 10 Nm.




3 Tighten to 6 Nm.




4 Tighten to 8 Nm.




5 Tighten to 25 Nm.




6 Tighten to 25 Nm.
