Computers and Control Systems: Tools and Equipment

This system does not require special diagnostic equipment for diagnosis. A dwell meter, tachometer, test light, ohmmeter, digital voltmeter with 10 megohms impedance, vacuum gauge, vacuum pump and jumper wires are required for diagnosis.
Although most dwell meters should be compatible with this system, if one causes a change in engine operation when connected the mixture control solenoid, it cannot be used. Generally dwell meters that have three leads, two of which are connected to the battery can be used. However, some two lead dwell meters can be used also.
