Wireless Ignition Node Receiver - Removal

REMOVAL

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the SRS. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel. Instrument Cluster Bezel - Removal.
3. Remove the steering column opening cover from the instrument panel. Steering Column Opening Cover - Removal.
4. Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool, carefully pry the bezel around the ignition switch until it unsnaps from the instrument panel.
5. Remove the four screws (3) that secure the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) (2) to the instrument panel support structure (1).
6. If equipped, disconnect the remote start system antenna module coaxial cable connector from the WIN connector receptacle.
7. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the WIN connector receptacle.
8. Remove the WIN from the instrument panel.
