This system, Figs. 1 and 2, used on 1981 6-258 equipped California vehicles and all 1982 6-258 equipped vehicles, except 49 state CJ, controls the air/fuel ratio and the air injection system through the use of various sensors monitoring engine conditions, a Micro Computer Unit (MCU) and a stepper motor which is integral with the carburetor. The CEC system is designed to reduce undesirable exhaust emissions while providing good fuel economy and engine performance.
