Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

4. Install support spring on inboard brake shoe. Position single tang end of spring over notch in shoe.
5. Install inboard shoe in caliper. Ensure shoe is flush against piston and support spring is fully seated in piston.
6. Install outboard shoe until shoe is fully seated. Ensure shoe ears rest on upper surface of caliper mounting ears and lower shoe tab fits into cutout in caliper. Outboard shoes with formed ears are meant for original installation only and are fitted to the caliper. Shoes of this type must never be relined or reconditioned.
