Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect connector and remove sensor from exhaust manifold.
2. Clean threads in manifold.
3. Coat replacement sensor threads with suitable anti-seize compound.
4. Install sensor and torque to 31 ft. lbs. Ensure that wire terminal ends are properly seated in plug before connecting connector.
5. Connect connector. Do not push rubber boot on sensor more than 1/2 inch above base. Oxygen sensor pigtail wires cannot be spliced or soldered. If broken, sensor must be replaced.
