Knock Sensor: Testing and Inspection
1.
With diagnostic tester M.S. 1700 connected to vehicle, start engine and observe knock unit values.
2.
Using a screwdriver, gently tap cylinder block in area near
knock sensor and note knock valve on tester.
3.
If knock value does not increase while tapping, check
knock sensor for proper electrical connections.
4.
If
knock sensor electrical connections are satisfactory, replace knock sensor.
