Throttle Full Open Switch: Description and Operation
Wide Open Throttle (WOT) Switch Description:
This switch is located on the front side of the throttle body and is mounted to the throttle bracket with the Idle Speed Actuator (ISA) Motor. The purpose of this switch is to indicate a wide open throttle condition to the ECU via a voltage signal. This switch is a mechanically operated electrical switch. The switch contacts are normally open, and are activated closed by a wide open throttle condition. A wide open throttle condition exists when the throttle lever is rotated far enough to close the contacts of the wide open throttle switch. The ECU compensates for the wide open throttle condition by increasing the fuel injector pulse width which richens the air/fuel mixture.
