Failure of the oxygen sensor, PCV hose (YJ only) transfer case vacuum hose (4WD only) and/or fuel tank vent valve (FTVV) boot (YJ with steel fuel tank only) on the above listed vehicles may cause the vehicle to be in violation of California Emissions Standards. In addition, the exhaust manifold may produce an exhaust leak noise. To correct these conditions, the listed components must be replaced and the exhaust manifold must be checked for an audible leak and replaced as necessary.

Important:
This recall is subject to the State of California Registration Renewal Emissions Recall Enforcement Program. Involved vehicles must have the recall service completed before registration renewal.

The servicing dealer must provide a Vehicle Emission Recall Proof of Correction Form (Form No. 8116-1053) to each owner upon completion of the recall service, for use as proof in renewal of the vehicle registration.

Details of this service action are explained in the following sections.
