Test 10 - Ignition Relay Testing

Pick-up Coil Assembly And Wiring Harness Connections:

PICK-UP COIL ASSEMBLY AND WIRING

1. Disconnect module 4 wire connector. Inspect connectors for dirt and corrosion.
2. Using a suitable ohmmeter, measure resistance of pick-up coil and wiring harness between wiring harness terminals joining orange and violet wires of module connector. When measuring resistance, wiggle wires to simulate any open circuits that might exist.
3. If resistance is between 400---1300 ohms, pick-up coil continuity is satisfactory, refer to TEST 11 for further testing. If resistance is less than 400 ohms or more than 1300 ohms, pick-up coil is shorted or open, refer to TEST 12 for further testing.
