Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the fuel tube at the carburetor, wrap a shop towel around the fitting to catch any fuel spill.
3. Disconnect fuel filter from inlet and outlet lines, and vapor vent line. Discard old hoses and clamps.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the fuel filter to the fuel inlet and outlet lines, using care to make sure the arrow on the filter points in the correct direction of flow. Ensure that the vapor return nipple on the filter points upward, and connect the vapor return line.
2. Install new clamps on all connections, and tighten securely.
3. Reconnect the fuel supply line at the carburetor, and reconnect the negative battery cable.
