Pick-Up Coil: Testing and Inspection
Pickup Coil Test:
1.
With the ignition in the OFF position, disconnect the
distributor pickup coil connector.
2.
Using an ohmmeter measure the resistance across the sensor connector terminals.
3.
The ohmmeter should read 400-800 ohms at operating temperature. If resistance is not within specification replace the pickup coil.
