DISCUSSION:





The upshift light on the vehicles listed above is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (SBEC). If the upshift light comes on when the vehicle is already in fifth gear, the Powertrain control module should be replaced (see illustration).

PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves the replacement of the Powertrain Control Module.

1. Using the procedure outlined in the appropriate service manual, replace the Powertrain Control Module.





2. Complete the required information on the Authorized Modification Label and affix the label to the vehicle near the VECI label.
