Transfer Case Lubricant Capacity:

Model 231 (YJ) 1.54 Liters (3.25 pints)

Model 231 (XJ/MJ) 1.04 Liters (2.20 pints)

Model 242 1.4 Liters (1.48 gts)

NOTE: ATF Plus, Dexron and Mercon are compatible and can be used to top off a transfer case previously filled with either fluids.

Fill Level

The correct fill level is to the bottom edge of the fill plug hole. The vehicle must be level in order to ensure an accurate fluid level check.
