Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Place ignition switch in Off position and disconnect battery ground cable.
2. To gain access to sensor, tilt rear seat assembly forward, then disconnect harness sensor.

3. Remove sensor to bracket attaching screws.
4. Remove sensor.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. The sensor mercury switch must be positioned with sensor locating arrow pointing to front of vehicle for switch to function properly.
b. Torque attaching screw to 17-32 inch lbs.
