Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) Label

Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) Label Location:

VECI Label - Typical:

VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION (VECI) LABEL
Vehicle should have a Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label, permanently attached, under the hood. There are unique labels for vehicles built for sale in the state of California and the country of Canada. Canadian labels are written in both the English and French languages. These labels are permanently attached and cannot be removed without defacing information and destroying label.

The VECI label contains vehicle emission specifications and vacuum hose routings.

Use Vehicle VECI label information, whenever possible.

^ Rout all vacuum hoses according to the VECI label, unless label is missing or defaced.

^ If the information in this reference differs from the VECI label, always SEE the VECI label.

The label contains the following:

^ Engine family and displacement

^ Evaporative family

^ Emission control system schematic

^ Certification application

^ Engine timing specifications (if adjustable)

^ Idle speeds (if adjustable)

^ Spark plug and plug gap
