Fuel Pump Pickup Filter: Description and Operation

The fuel pump inlet filter (strainer) is located on the bottom of the fuel pump module (Fig. 30). The inlet strainer is a serviceable item.

The inlet strainer serves to filter large particles from the fuel as is it drawn through the fuel pump and fed through the fuel filter to the engine.
